South Alta R.E.A. awards two, $1,000.00 scholarships, one to the top male applicant and one to the top female applicant. There is also the Jim Wickenheiser Essay Award valued at $500.00, for the applicant who submits the best essay.
The scholarships were established to recognize the academic accomplishments and community involvement of children of South Alta REA members and to encourage them to continue their education.
The applicant must be a resident of Alberta and their parent, or legal guardian, must be a member in good standing with South Alta R.E.A. Applicants must be a High School Graduate, planning to enroll in the first year of a full-time, post-secondary program, that is at least two years long. Applications are available by calling the office as the deadlines vary yearly.
